ABC reveals celebrity and athlete pairings for ‘The Superstars’ revival

ABC has revealed the identities of the eight celebrity and athlete pairings competing on The Superstars, its celebrity-themed revival of Superstars, an all-around sports competition that featured famous athletes competing in different sporting events to determine the best athlete in the world.
ABC will premiere The Superstars, an all-around sports competition series that will feature the teams battling in various events on Tuesday, June 23 at 8PM ET/PT. Superstars originally debuted as part of ABC’s Wide World of Sports program in 1973 and aired additional editions as recently as 2002.
The Superstars team pairings are NFL star Terrell Owens and model Joanna Krupa; former MLB star Jeff Kent and actress Ali Landry; former NBA star Robert Horry and actress Estella Warren; skier Bode Miler and celebrity carpenter Paige Hemmis; freeskier Kristi Leskinen and professional dancer Maksim Chmerkovskiy; former WNBA star Lisa Leslie and actor Dan Cortese; former tennis star Jennifer Capriati and actor Dave Charvet; and former soccer player Brandi Chastain and singer Julio Iglesias, Jr..

Hi Annie. It’s Doc, here. Brandi is traveling home with her team. I saw your note and wanted to say I’m sorry you hurt your ankle. Try to use your down time to catch up on other things you like to do.
We have been talking to a few broadcasters about Brandi’s show, but nothing yet to report. In the meantime, we’ll keep you posted on our website.
