Now my summer wasn’t all work. I had FUN wandering around the City (New York) with a soccer ball at my feet, making my way through Central Park, the West Side Highway, the Statue of Liberty, over the Brooklyn Bridge, as well as roaming through Time Square, SoHo, and the East Village. Along the sidewalks, I made fast friends when I would pass the ball to an unexpected pedestrian, bell man, tourist or tour guide. Instantly we had a common bond. The ball became our language of choice, and it immediately brought smiles to our faces. The greatest lesson I learned over the summer was that when we have a chance to explore a new place, we should. You never know what hidden gems, or teammates, you may find. Looking forward to hearing your summer stories soon.
Peace,
Brandi

The best part of my summer was meeting Brandi in New York City. And then again in New Jersey to train and record a video with her. Hey Brandi I have a question for you. When you take a penalty kick where should you aim. Talk to you soon.

Hey Annie,
Nice to hear from you. I had fun meeting you too. I love that total strangers that have similar interests can meet and become friends just by taking a chance to say Hi. As for the answer to your question, I think that aiming is a good idea, but most of all, you can’t telegraph, or give away, where you are going to the GK. I would recommend trying different spots on the goal, and when you find a spot that feels just right, like the right side netting for me against China, stick with it. No matter what the GK does, if you hit it just right, it will always go in. BUT, if the GK seems to be leaning in that direction, practice going in the opposite direction. If you want to know the most difficult spot for the GK, it is low and in the corner. Anything that is waist to shoulder height is considered savable height and much easier for the GK. I hope that has helped you out.
Good to hear from you Annie, please say hello to your family.
