I can’t believe that the kick off The Superstars is tomorrow, Tuesday June 23rd, on ABC 8pm pst. It feels like so long ago that we all convened in the Bahamas to tape the show. I am now laughing because I can’t believe that this summer is the 10 year anniversary of the 1999 Women’s World Cup and the penalty kick. That doesn’t seem as far away as the taping of The Superstars for some reason.
Both of the events were very special, both embedded in teamwork, some pain/injuries, being on the road, familiar and unfamiliar games (think Nigeria when we were down 1-0 in the early part of the 1st half and we had never been behind in for as long as I could remember) and lots of fun. Like the World Cup, there is drama in The Superstars. It’s between teams and the within teams. I wish I could say what some of the outcomes were, BUT I am going to make you watch every week, but we can certainly talk about it after each episode. So, ENJOY!

Ok, I’m watching the competition unfold along with everyone else. So far, what impresses me the most is the cooperative teamwork that Brandi and Julio are demonstrating. I think that it’s a major reason they’ve been successful so far. What do you think?
