This footage was taken in Pacific Grove, California, home to many Harbor Seals. These pups, were born approximately two weeks ago. On the small beach alcove near Mussel Point, the mothers, who are the sole providers of care for their pups, rest together. The pups are born singly and well developed, capable of swimming and diving within hours. They are born weighing up to 16 kilograms, and within three to four weeks can double their weight by the time of weaning.
