Clothes that Look…Absolutely the Same
Normally, I have a huge dislike for stores like Abercrombie, Aeropostale, American Eagle, and Hollister, simply because it’s the same stuff. End of story. You see the exact same t-shirts, the exact same plaid shorts, the exact same little sweaters, and the exact same sweats. It doesn’t matter what store you’re in or what year it is.
And then there’s a certain look that always accompanies cookie-cutter clothes from Abercrombie etc.: stick-straight hair, caked-on foundation, constant texting, and annoying gum smacking.
Yeah, so it’s a stereotype, but go people watch in a mall sometime and you’ll see that it really is true.
Okay. End of rant du jour.
The point is that I was in American Eagle the other day, and I was surprised by how much I really liked their stuff for spring. There were definitely some out-of the box items, like cute tie-dyed scarves and adorable little dresses. I could totally see myself wearing this stuff on a beach during the summer. What are your thoughts on cookie-cutter clothes and go-to summer pieces?
